Creative / Narrative / Songwriting Workshop

Length of Workshop: 60 mins * 3 days a week or as needed per program

 

Goals and Objectives: As a result of the Unit, Students will Learn to use all of their senses to be individual creative writers. Everyone sees and experiences the world differently so letting the writers identify how they receive the world before they combine thoughts/cultures with fellow writers is a very important part of the workshop. We absolutely encourage TEAMWORK, but; after the students understand their own thoughts and their own voice. This process enhances confidence, leaving no room for insecurities about one’s writing when the time comes for collaboration. They will learn to creatively pull and apply thoughts from their minds, life experiences, and imagination. The workshop will instill confidence in their narrating through song writing, teaching them how to get all of their thoughts out of the mind and on to the paper.

 

Success/Products: I will know students were successful by the songs that will have been written in their own “Stellar Lyrics” instructional songwriting notebook at the end of the workshop. Reassurance and teamwork will help them accomplish completed songs. The amount of songs we complete will be dependent on the length of the workshop. I have an empathetic teaching method as a result of my old insecurities about my own writing. I overcame those fears from empathetic patient leaders and i want to encourage the youth to Always believe in their gifts and take a chance. My goal is to implement the lesson in such a way that everyone will bloom into “STELLAR LYRICIST”
